Crop protection is another important benefit, as agricultural biotechnology supports researchers and engineers in developing tools and solutions to that end. For example, cost-effective pest management solutions could be developed for crops such as corn, cotton, potatoes, and other vegetables and fruits.

 

This can be accomplished through merging agricultural biotechnology with genetic engineering to understand and make proteins that kill certain insects when they feed on the plants. Such solutions not only improve crops but also the productivity and experience of farmers.

 

Among the ways agricultural biotechnology benefits consumers is through enhancing the nutrition value of products. Monitoring nutrition value and data is becoming the norm for recent generations. People care about the food they eat, and some watch their diet to become fit and healthy. There are solutions in this field that can give food better value, flavor, and texture. In current trials of improving flavors, scientists are working on increasing the activity of plant enzymes that transform aroma precursors into flavoring substances.For fresher goods, genetic engineering plays an important role to prevent damages and loss of nutrients.
